Investigación en Foco is the first Photography Competition organised by the Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK).

Overview

• Open competition for SRUK members and SRUK friends submitting a single photograph with a clear research theme.
• Photographs will be evaluated in three different categories: originality, technique, and research communication.
• The 12 shortlisted photographs (4 from each category, selected by an external panel of experts) will be displayed in the Investigación en Foco website, and they will be used to produce a 2020/2021 calendar.
• There will be 4 prizes of £100 each, which will be awarded to the best photographs according to the criteria of originality, technique, and impact!
• Closing deadline: 30^th June 2020 at 23.59 (GMT)

Aim

The aim of this competition is to reinforce the need and beauty of our daily research in all fields through images, and to make it more accessible to a broad audience. It represents a unique opportunity for SRUK/CERU researchers to capture their work and share it in a different way.

Who can Participate

The call is open to any member (or friend) of SRUK/CERU able to capture any particular theme on a research field, including Mathematics, Biology, Medicine and Health, Chemistry, Ecology and Environmental Science, Physics, Astronomy, Engineering Technology, Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences and Science Communication.
