1. Regular Memberships
Become a regular member if your nationality is Spanish(*), your primary work is research either in industry or academia, and meet one of the two following requirements:
- Live and work or study in the United Kingdom.
- Have an affiliation with an institution in the United Kingdom.
(*) Non-Spanish citizens may become SRUK/CERU Regular Members if approved by the Executive Committee.
Benefits of a Regular Membership
Disseminate your research
SRUK/CERU can help you to share your work. We will spread the word and liaise with the press so your work reaches the wider public.
Get involved and develop your skills
SRUK/CERU is run by people like you: full time researchers with very little time but lots of enthusiasm for science and for getting involved in something that will make a difference.
Networking
As an SRUK/CERU member, you will be part of a large network of Spanish researchers working in the United Kingdom.
Shape Science Policy
Defend the interests and rights of Spanish researchers in the UK and provide recommendations to foster the R&D system in Spain.
International Research Platforms
We believe that science has no border, and we want to bring together scientists from Spain and the UK.
Travel Grants SRUK/CERU
Every year, SRUK/CERU awards eight members with a Travel Grant to attend a research conference. These grants aim to help SRUK/CERU members to share their research with a wider audience while forging new collaborations.
- If your research article has been accepted for publication, we can help you amplify the news by contacting the media! We will need you to provide us with the press release you and the rest of co-authors have written and we shall share it with relevant media. You can find more details about how to do this under the “Amplify your research” section on our website.
- If you want to write a short article for the lay audience summarising the content of your recently accepted publication, we can feature your research under our “Research Highlights” section! You can find more details about how to do this under the “Amplify your research” section on our website.
- If you want to share your passion about a specific scientific theme and/or write a post about your research interests, the SRUK/CERU Blog is what you are looking for! You can find more details about our blog on the “SRUK/CERU Blog “1, 2, 3… Explore!” section on our website. You can also contact the SRUK/CERU Blog team directly, who will be very happy to share the guidelines you shall need to follow to write your own draft as well as the review and publication processes with our SRUK/CERU team of editors!
- Are you looking for someone with a particular research expertise that may be able to help you with your research? Do you want to share available collaborations as part of your project with current SRUK/CERU Members? Then, please use your SRUK/CERU credentials to access our SRUK/CERU Members Zone and fill out the form under the “Collaborations” section in our community platform with your request and we shall make it available to our members!
- Do you need to advertise a new job position? The SRUK/CERU Members Zone has a specific section where you can do so! Please use your SRUK/CERU credentials to access our platform and fill out the form under the “Jobs” section with the requested information. Please be concise and do not add more information than what we ask you to provide us with (i.e., do not just copy and paste the ad you are redistributing across other platforms), otherwise delays may occur. Any additional information shall not be included in the final advertisement we will share with our members in the “Jobs” section.
