Loreto obtained a BSc in Biology at the University of Vigo, Spain and then a PhD in Marine biology at the same University- she studied macrofaunal benthic communities associated to seagrasses meadows. Along her career in Spain she has been involved in a diverse variety of projects, from Marine ecology to aquaculture, in several institutions like University of Vigo, ECIMAT and CETMAR. She moved to Guildford (United Kingdom) after being offered a position in a Environmental consulting company, as a benthic fauna taxonomy specialist and marine biologist. She has also a artistic side, as a plastic artist she has been involved in different projects including the “Science-me a story” illustrated videos and book. She joined the SRUK/CERU since 2018 convinced of the benefits of scientist associations not only for its members but for society in general.
