2019 Annual Congress of the SEBBM – call for symposium proposals

The Spanish Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SEBBM), one of the most important scientific societies in Spain, has established an agreement with SRUK and other scientific Spanish societies abroad (RAICEX) for offering to our members the possibility to organise scientific sessions at the Annual Congress 2019 that will take place in Madrid from 16th to 19th July at the Faculty of Medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

With this initiative, the SEBBM pretends to make aware and emphasise in Spain the science produced by our Spanish researchers abroad.

The SEBBM Organising Committee has reserved a total of 9 parallel symposiums of 90 minutes each during the three days. These symposiums will be focused, as traditionally in this Congress, in “Biomolecular Structure and Function”, “Gene Regulation and Cell Signalling” and “Molecular Basis of Disease”.  Each symposium will be composed by 3 presentations (25 minutes each, plus 5 minutes for questions). One of the talks will be presented by the organiser of the symposium, a member of SRUK, who will be as well the chair of that symposium. The other two speakers must be Spanish researchers working abroad (any country).

The Congress organisation will cover the Congress inscription fees, moreover the transport and accommodation expenses of the selected speakers (400€ maximum). Moreover, we remind that thanks to our collaboration with SEBBM, all attendees will have a reduced inscription fee at the Congress.

The SRUK members interested in this initiative should send their proposal by 20th September 2018 to [email protected]. You can find all the information in the guidelines, evaluation criteria, submission form and other questions.

SRUK considers this initiative as an excellent opportunity to draw attention in Spain the work our members produce in the UK and to foster international scientific collaborations and mobility between both countries. We encourage to participate in this fantastic initiative!.
