Victoria Garcia Giner

Vicepresident of SRUK/CERU

Involvement in SRUK/CERU

Victoria is a Research Associate at the Rosalind Franklin Institute (Harwell, Oxfordshire), where she works on advanced cryogenic and correlative microscopy techniques to study biological systems, with a particular focus on neurodegeneration and cellular organisation. She completed her PhD at Imperial College London, where she studied the effects of air pollution on health using a range of advanced microscopy approaches.

She works to connect advanced microscopy with biological questions that have real-world relevance. Her research combines fluorescence and electron microscopy across multiple length scales, alongside image analysis and methodological development. Alongside her research, Victoria is actively involved in science communication and outreach, organising events for scientists, school-aged children and the general public.
