“En Foco”is a photography contest that aims to reinforce the importance and beauty of our daily research and nature through photography, while making it more accessible to a wider audience. This contest is a unique opportunity for SRUK/CERU members and friends to capture and share their research (or anything related to science!) using an original format.
Who can participate?
The call is open to all SRUK/CERU members, including SRUK/CERU Regular members, Associate members, and Friends). Themes may include (but are not limited to) Biology, Medicine, Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy, Engineering, Technology, Social Sciences, Arts, Humanities and Science Communication.
Important Dates
DEADLINE EXTENDED! Participate by April 22nd.
April 15th: Deadline to participate.
Late May: Announcement of the 12 shortlisted photographs.
June 21st-23rd: Winners shall be announced during the SRUK/CERU XI International Symposium, in Newcastle upon Tyne (North East England, UK).
4 prizes in different categories!
Photographs will be evaluated by a Panel of Experts in three categories: originality, technique, and research communication.
The 12 shortlisted photographs will be published on our website, and will be used to create the annual SRUK/CERU desk calendar.
The winner in each category will receive an award of £100. There will be a fourth £100 prize for the most popular photograph voted by SRUK/CERU members.
