Dr Iria González-Becerra is a Senior Teaching Fellow and Languages Field Leader (interim) at the Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication at Imperial College London. Iria has previously taught at Princeton University and at different UK institutions (Kingston University, University of Northumbria at Newcastle). An applied linguist, she specialises in the teaching, development, and administration of Spanish courses in IWLP contexts (languages for specialists of other subjects) with a focus on provision for STEMMB students. Iria’s research interests lie in finding ways to improve multimodal teaching practices and in understanding and developing students’ engagement. A founding member of SRUK/CERU and active in the London Constituency from 2012 to 2016, she’s keen to return to the association and contribute to its efforts in communicating science in Spanish and in creating collaborative networks.
