Eddie Blanco-Davis

Eddie Blanco-Davis is a Professor of Marine Engineering and Technology at Liverpool John Moores University and a member of the Liverpool Logistics, Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM). His research focuses on maritime decarbonisation, ship systems design, and sustainable propulsion technologies.
He holds a BSc in Marine Engineering and Shipyard Management from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and an MSc and PhD in Naval Architecture, Ocean and Marine Engineering from the University of Strathclyde. Before entering academia, he worked in the maritime industry as a seafarer in the engine department and in shipyard project management.
His current research addresses alternative fuels, hybrid and fuel-cell propulsion systems, ship electrification, energy-efficiency technologies, and life-cycle assessment of maritime systems. He collaborates widely with international partners and contributes to research, policy, and industry initiatives supporting the transition to low-carbon shipping.
