Ana Aragón is a postdoctoral researcher in the Tofaris Lab at the Kavli Institute, NDCN, University of Oxford. Her research focuses on uncovering the mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease using CRISPRi to investigate gene function in cellular models.
She completed her PhD between the University of Málaga and the University of Sheffield, specialising in modelling the blood–brain barrier using patient-derived stem cells in ALS. She was later awarded a Spanish Fulbright Scholarship to continue this work at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Ohio), where she applied these approaches to study neurodevelopmental disorders.
She is actively involved in the Spanish Researchers Society in the UK (SRUK/CERU) as a member of both the Oxford and Neuroscience Committees, contributing to outreach activities.
Ana is Chair of the 13th International Symposium (2026, Oxford).
