VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

The first edition of Science-me a story has been a success and we are looking for volunteers to launch the second edition.

The contest aims to promote the use of stories to communicate science for children. Last year, we received 21 scientific stories  in the English categoryand 31 in the Spanish category. Contestants from all around the world, including Venezuela and India, sent their texts from which our fantastic judging panel selected 9 notable mentionsfor category and a total of 7 winners. Their stories have been published in the website of the Literature and Science Hub of the University of Liverpool and Principia as a special recognition. As the cherry on top, our closing ceremony on the 6thof October at the Instituto Cervantes of Manchester congregated most of the winners that received their awards from the organising committee.

This upcoming 2019 our main sponsor, Lilly foundation, wants to repeat and this give us the change to enhance the experience. We are looking for volunteers from any constituency to work with us to expand the contest. We need active and enthusiastic people to help with the organization but also to give ideas on how to improve the contest and what to do with the stories to reach the children. No special skills required motivation is enough!

Wanna join? Email us at [email protected]for more information. We will start the meetings mid-January.

Would you like to be the next awardee? Stay tuned for the next update!
