The committee’s primary goals center around promoting scientific excellence, facilitating knowledge exchange, and addressing critical challenges concerning cancer research and treatment for both researchers and the general public.

Announcements

The Cancer Committee was created in Manchester on November 16, 2019 with the first SRUK/CERU Cancer Networking Series,  with over 100 participants, bringing together British keynote speakers and early career researchers from Spain and Germany, discussions on women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), networking, and interactive activities, including meeting the experts and career and funding opportunities in cancer research. Due to the pandemic, the next session at the CNIO (Madrid, Spain) scheduled for the summer of 2020 could not be held.

From 2022, the SRUK/CERU Cancer Committee and the SRUK/CERU Midlands constituency organised the I SRUK/CERU Cancer Symposium: connecting Spanish cancer researchers in the UK in Birmingham, 3rd December 2022. And the SRUK/CERU Ageing and Diseases Conference in Cambridge, 9th June  2023.

Next Event!

The 2nd SRUK/CERU Cancer Research Networking Day will take place on September 18th, 2023, in Madrid at the National Cancer Research Center (CNIO), a leading research institution focused on advancing the understanding of cancer biology and developing innovative cancer therapies.
