The career of a researcher often starts with a master and a PhD, but where it leads is a mystery. The academic path is the better known route, but it is certainly not the only possibility, nor necessarily the most fulfilling one!
In this event, we explore several roles closely linked to research that are just at the edge of the academic path. So close that the distinction is often fuzzy and a matter of debate. Three members of SRUK/CERU holding such posts will share their experiences, the challenges they faced and will provide advice to anyone interested in taking that step.

Drinks and nibbles will be available on-site to those attending the event in person. Furthermore, after the formal event, we will move to a nearby pub to socialise, mingle and chat with the speakers in an informal environment.
This event is the first one of a series of hybrid events that the SRUK/CERU London Constituency will devote to the different career paths that are open to researchers beyond the traditional academic ladder, and that will take place towards the end of the 2024 and the first half of 2025.
