SRUK vicepresident, Dr. Estrella Luna Díez spoke about the uncertainty after the Brexit referendum. Currently, more than 5000 Spanish researchers are carrying out their research in the UK. According to CERU’s survey among its members, more than 60% of them believe that both their personal and professional lives will be affected. Many of these researchers plan to leave the UK, while 43% are still waiting for the events development to happen. Such decisions are likely to lead to a large loss of skilled professionals, says Dr. Luna.
