Nuria Seto-Salvia has a BSc in Biochemistry, an MSc in Genetics and Human Evolution, and a PhD in Neuroscience and Genetics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV).
Her research career has focused on the study of genetic forms of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders, including genetic studies of embryonic development and neural tube defects at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health. She is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Reta Lila Weston Institute of Neurological Studies, Queen Square Brain Bank for Neurological Disorders, at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.
Her research focuses on understanding the genetic basis and molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. She uses induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) models derived from patients to contribute to a better understanding of the mechanisms and progression of these diseases.
