Laura se licenció en Biología por la Universidad de Santiago de Compostela. Tiene un Máster en Biología Molecular de la Universidad de A Coruña y un Doctorado en Ciencias de las Plantas, también de la Universidad de A Coruña. Es especialista en cultivo de tejidos vegetales y transformación genética, y actualmente trabaja en Wild Bioscience Ltd. como líder de grupo.
