Dr Susana Sánchez-González is an art historian, rare books librarian, and curator with over twenty years’ experience working across libraries, museums, and cultural institutions in the UK and Spain. She is currently an HE Innovation Fellow (Libraries and Network Engagement) at Creative Manchester, University of Manchester, working closely with Manchester City of Literature and the Portico Library. Her career spans roles in both library and museum contexts, including exhibition work at CAC Málaga and early experience at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, alongside extensive work in special collections at The John Rylands Research Institute and Library and Chetham’s Library. Her research and practice focus on book exhibitions, reader engagement, and the emotional relationships between people and books, developing innovative approaches that connect historic collections with contemporary audiences.
