Silvia Álvarez

Involvement in SRUK/CERU

I graduated in Pharmacy at Complutense University of Madrid and then I moved to the San Pablo CEU University of Madrid to complete a PhD programme in synthetic and medicinal chemistry. After a short postdoctoral stay in the group of translational medicinal and biological chemistry at Centre of Biological Investigation (CIB-CSIC) I moved to UK in 2015. I worked as medicinal chemist for a small biotech which implemented AI and automation to the discovery of new drugs (Cyclofluidic Ltd.). In 2018 I started to work at the Cancer Therapeutic Unit of the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR), being part of a multidisciplinary drug discovery project in partnership with big pharma aiming to discover new targets and drug candidates. I have been a member of SRUK since 2019, being part of the Organizing Committee for the 8th International Symposium SRUK/CERU.
