Nieves Garcia-Gisbert is a Spanish postdoctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge/Stem Cell Institute, where she utilizes a multi-omics approach to investigate how aging affects blood stem cells and haematopoiesis. Previously, she worked as an associate molecular biologist at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, diagnosing adult leukaemia and collaborating closely with clinicians, an experience that drove her focus on understanding disease initiation. Nieves also chairs the Cambridge Seminars in Somatic Mosaicism and enjoys running and basketball. Her motivation for participating in the CERU/SRUK reopening is to support the Spanish-speaking community in navigating the challenges and opportunities of their careers in Cambridge.
