Involvement in SRUK/CERU

Judit Serrat is a Senior Research Assistant at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute, where she is developing organoid-based in vitro models to study Trichuris trichiura, a parasitic worm that affects hundreds of millions of people worldwide, particularly in low-income settings. She previously completed a PhD in Parasitology at the University of Salamanca, Spain, where she specialised in host–parasite interactions. Outside the lab, Judit enjoys reading, aerial circus training, and spending time with friends. Through her involvement in CERU/SRUK, she hopes to help foster a supportive community for Spanish researchers abroad by promoting a welcoming environment where members can share common challenges, support one another, and build connections both inside and outside academia.
