The nomination process for the SRUK/CERU Merit Award, the highest honour awarded by our Society, is now open. This biennial award, established in 2016, recognises the career of a senior and internationally renowned Spanish researcher based in the UK who has significantly contributed to their field of expertise, had an impact on wider society, and promoted scientific collaborations between Spain and the United Kingdom. Previous years’ awardees are Carmen Galán (2022),  Esther Rodríguez Villegas (2020), Mercedes Maroto (2018) and Alfonso Martínez-Arias (2016).

All SRUK/CERU members can nominate their favourite candidates for the SRUK/CERU Merit Award 2024. If you know of well-established Spanish researchers who you think may be eligible for this award, all you need to do is nominate them to the 2024 SRUK/CERU Merit Award by filling in this form (you can nominate more than one candidate, just submit one form per candidate!). Any direct contribution to SRUK/CERU activities and initiatives will be considered, as well as their contribution to one or more of the founding objectives of our Society. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday 20th April, 2024.

After the aforementioned deadline, the SRUK/CERU Executive Committee will shortlist 3 candidates and, in the next few weeks, select the winner of the SRUK/CERU Merit Award 2024. The awardee will be announced in our XI International Symposium SRUK/CERU, in July.
