Welcome to our international workshop on Research Data Management Tools and Strategies for Language Diversity organised jointly by the DARIAH-EU Working Group on Multilingual Digital Humanities, the Society of Spanish Researchers in the United Kingdom (SRUK/CERU), Central European University (Austria) the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at The University of Edinburgh.
DARIAH-EU (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) is a pan-European research network that supports digital methods for scholars in the arts and humanities, enabling them to create, share and access digital resources and knowledge about culture and history:
This workshop is funded by DARIAH and will bring together researchers, research managers, librarians, archivists and data management officers working in the UK and across several DARIAH member countries in Europe (France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Ireland). The aim is to think collectively about how linguistically diverse and cross-lingual data can be better supported, shared and reused in the digital humanities, while also addressing questions of knowledge equity, linguistic inclusiveness and minority representation.
The workshop will take place on Thursday 3 September and Friday 4 September 2026 and will be hosted at the Edinburgh Futures Institute at the University of Edinburgh. The Edinburgh Futures Institute is a new futures-focused space for learning, research, and innovation at the University of Edinburgh’s home of the Centre for Data, Culture and Society.
