After the success of the 2nd SRUK/CERU Cancer Research Networking Day organised with the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO), the cancer committee of SRUK/CERU come together to present the SRUK/CERU Cancer Research Networking Day “Battling cancer with emerging technologies”. The event will be hosted at the Innovation and Translation Hub (I-Hub). 84 Wood Lane, London, W12 0BZ and will take place on Friday 29th November, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
The evening will feature three outstanding talks on the use of emerging technologies in cancer research.
5:15-5:30: Attendees arrival.
5:30-5:40: Opening and welcoming talk.
5:40-6:40 (15min talk + 5min Q&A)
- Professor Sergi Castellano (UCL): His group focuses on translational approaches to assess cancer heterogeneity and genomic risks from new therapies.
- Dr Özgen Deniz (QMBCI): Her group explores epigenetic regulation of transposable elements and their contribution to the development of tumours.
- Dr Elena Palma (KCL): Her group works towards advancing human immunocompetent experimental models of liver diseases and malignancies and investigating pre-clinically the effects of multitargeted therapies.
6:40-7:30: Networking with nibbles and drinks.
7:30: Closure.
After the talks, we will gather with some nibbles and casual drinks! It will be an excellent opportunity to relax, chat, and network with fellow researchers and friends.
