Secretary of the Cambridge Constituency
I studied Biology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and I did my Master’s degree in Genetics and Developmental Biology at the University of Barcelona (UB). After that, I moved to Madrid for my doctoral studies, to work at the Laboratory of Neurology at the IIS-Fundación Jiménez Díaz. I got a fellowship from the Fundación Conchita Rábago de Jiménez Díaz. I was looking for new treatments for a fatal form of epilepsy, Lafora disease. I obtained my PhD in 2017 at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). In March 2018 I moved to the University of Cambridge, to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Prof. Rubinsztein´s lab, which studies the role of autophagy as potential therapy for neurodegenerative disease. I have a postdoctoral fellowship from the Basque Government to carry out a project aimed to understand the relationship between autophagy and microglial phagocytosis in zebrafish models of neurodegeneration. I joined SRUK/CERU in 2018 and I am part of the Cambridge SRUK/CERU working group since then.
