The workshop will provide a practical and accessible introduction to Horizon Europe collaboration opportunities under Pillar 2, with a focus on the final calls under the current programme.
It will also help participants understand how collaborative projects work, how UK-based Spanish researchers can take part, and what practical steps they can take to move from interest to action.
The workshop will combine the following elements: an overview of the Horizon Europe landscape, sharing of experience and a practical session with hints and tips including on how to identify calls, understand topics, find partners and engage with available support.

Xavier Rodde, Principal Associate, Novation Europe : will cover a brief practical overview of Horizon Europe and the Pillar 2, presenting the opportunities that are open to Spanish researchers including an overview of the final calls. He will aim to cover: “What is Horizon Europe Pillar 2, what kinds of projects does it fund, what are the calls, who takes part, and where might Spanish Researchers including Early Career, Researchers see themselves in it?”

David Fairén-Jiménez, Professor at the University of Cambridge and winner of the 2018 SRUK/CERU Emerging Talent Award, will join the workshop to share his personal experience of participating in collaborative European research projects. Drawing on his own experience, he will provide practical insights into developing and joining collaborative projects, including the opportunities and challenges involved, and offer advice to researchers interested in taking their first steps towards Horizon Europe funding.
