Eligibility

This grant is open to all SRUK/CERU members, including those holding a regular (student, junior, or senior) or an associate membership, who want to host winter students based in a Spanish university. Non-members can apply only after submitting their membership registration.

Further Details

  • The pre-assignment of student-supervisor pairs aims to streamline program management with the primary goal of achieving the best possible student-supervisor match. The selection process will be based on academic criteria and insights gained from previous experiences at Spanish Universities in similar programs.
  • This student placement is an integral part of UFV’s official undergraduate program (Curricular Activities), and the University will officially acknowledge the supervision provided.
  • Students must have full insurance coverage through their home University or private providers.
  • Upon the completion of the student placement, SRUK/CERU Researchers (hosts) are required to complete a survey about their experience with the program. SRUK/CERU will use this feedback to enhance future calls for participation. Additionally, hosts may receive invitations to engage in scientific outreach activities organised by SRUK/CERU, including events like Science in the Pub, Pint of Knowledge, or contributing to the SRUK/CERU Blog.

Student-Supervisor Matching

  1. SRUK/CERU will review the completeness of Hosting Group applications and forward them to the participating institution, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria.
  2. Universidad Francisco de Vitoria will allocate one student to each relevant supervisor and, if that applies, create a waiting list. They will align the supervisor’s expertise and requirements (including mobility duration, degree, and experience prerequisites) with the academic qualifications and willingness of the students.
  3. Supervisors will have a 10-day window to interview the candidates before accepting one or more. Specific dates for this process will be announced after the application deadline.
  4. In case of any disagreements with the initial allocation, the University-SRUK/CERU will provide contact information for other students on the waiting list.
  5. The universities will facilitate the final matching of candidates and supervisors and communicate the final outcomes to the students and SRUK/CERU. SRUK/CERU will also maintain communication with the Hosting Group throughout this process.

Application

  • SRUK/CERU members willing to apply as Hosting Group supervisors must complete the following Application Form.
