Affiliation: The Francis Crick Institute. 1 Midland Road, London, NW1 1AT.
I studied Biochemistry (2015) and a master’s degree in Biomedicine (2016) at the University of Seville (US, Spain). Then I moved to Salamanca to obtain my PhD (2021) in Biosciences: Biology and Clinical Aspects of Cancer and Translational Medicine at the Cancer Research Institute of Salamanca (CIC/IMBCC USAL-CSIC). My research was focused on new therapeutic options to combat resistance to anti-HER2 therapies in breast cancer and the characterization of possible mechanisms of resistance to these targeted therapies. In this context we published the action of two antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) against EGFR and HER3 that offer attractive possibilities of using ADCs in clinical trials for several indications in HER2+ cancers. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher in The Francis Crick Institute in London. The lab is learning about how the dendritic cells work to contribute ideas for better vaccines and cancer therapies. Indeed, my project is focused in translating dendritic cell biology into new therapies for cancer.
