Involvement in SRUK/CERU

I was born in Murcia, Spain. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Physics and my Master’s degree in Theoretical Physics at the Complutense University of Madrid. During my Master’s degree, I specialized in gauge theories. I wrote my Master’s thesis on perturbative quantization of a nonabelian gauge theory focusing on high-energy physics. Shortly after this, I became more interested in the Condensed Matter realm during my studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

I joined Dr Adolfo G. Grushin’s group at Néel Institute in Grenoble to do my PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, working on theoretical aspects of topological materials. During this time, I developed a theoretical characterization of optical responses in multifold semimetals in close collaboration with experimentalists.

After completing my PhD, I worked on optical responses of superconducting phases as a postdoctoral researcher at the Donostia International Physics Center in Dr Fernando de Juan’s group. I currently hold a postdoctoral research associate position at the University of Bristol in the group of Dr Felix Flicker, working on topological aspects of quasicrystalline and aperiodic materials.

I joined SRUK/CERU in June 2023. I am very interested in politics, the political history of modern Europe, and science diplomacy and policy at the European and worldwide levels. Amazed by the work of SRUK/CERU work on many fronts, and in particular on the science policy and diplomacy theme, I decided to join the Science Policy department. I am also a member of the Policy Working Group of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), where, together with other members of SRUK/CERU, I work closely on the common interests shared by SRUK/CERY and the MCAA.
