I have been interested in biology and human health from a very young age. Traveling, learning languages, sports and writing are among my hobbies. I graduated in Biomedical Sciences at Universitat de Barcelona in 2018, and I later obtained my Master’s degree in Translational Biomedical Research at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. During this period, I carried out internships at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and at Vall d’Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR), both with a focus on cancer-related research. Afterwards, I was determined to put together 2 of my greatest passions (science and travelling) and look for PhD opportunities abroad. I was awarded a PhD position at Institute of Cancer Therapeutics (University of Bradford) in collaboration with the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in London, where I am currently trying to find out new ways of treating Rhabdomyosarcoma, one of the deadliest types of Childhood Cancer. I understand the importance of the many tasks that the SRUK fulfills in terms of supporting and disseminating research, fostering collaborations and gender equality, and developing social and professional networks. For that reason, I decided to make my tiny contribution in the association.
