Magda Pascual

Participación en CERU

Dr. Magda Pascual-Borràs is a Postdoctoral Research Associate coordinating the EPRSCJPSC Core-to-Core program at Newcastle University. She is leading a project involving the study of electron-rich POMs for energy storage applications. She holds both a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Theoretical and Computational Chemistry from the Rovira i Virgili University (Spain). In 2017, she obtained her PhD in Chemistry from Rovira i Virgili University (Spain) where she performed interdisciplinary research on the characterisation and reactivity of polyoxometalates (POMs) using computational and experimental methods. After obtaining her PhD, she was honoured with a competitive Postdoctoral position from The Kempe Foundation at Umeå University (Sweden). There, her focus was on the computational and experimental resolution of the reactivity of discrete metal oxides at the Molecular Geochemistry Laboratory. In 2021, she joined Hiroshima University as an Assistant Professor in a cross-appointment with Newcastle University. Her research interest lies in the design of molecular metal oxide for solar energy storage and conversion, electrocatalyst and next generation batteries applications, combining both experimental and computational disciplines. She joined SRUK/CERU in 2022, when the North East constituency was launched.
