Pedro Verdia

I obtained my degree and PhD at the faculty of chemistry of the University of Vigo. During my PhD I also made a 6 month research stay at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Imperial College London. After obtaining my PhD I made various postdocs at the Palacky University of the Czech Republic, Queen´s University of Belfast, The University of Vigo and the Nottingham University. Since July 2019 I work at the Chemical Engineering Department of the Imperial College London.
Here, my current research is focused in using ionic liquids for the production of added value materials and chemicals from lignocellulosic biomass. A more environmentally friendly alternative to the current methods employed in the paper and pulp industries.
