María Gordillo Marañón

I am a PhD research student in Computational Genomics and Drug Development sponsored by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) at University College London (UCL), UK.

After obtaining a BSc degree in Biochemistry at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain, I completed a MSc in Genetics of Human Disease at UCL. After gaining some laboratory experience through different experimental research
projects in Madrid (Institute of Medical Research Fundacion Jimenez Diaz and Institute of Medical and Molecular Genetics), Stockholm (Karolinska Institutet) and London (MRC Laboratory of Molecular and Cell Biology), I am now specialising in computational and bioinformatics research at the UCL Institute of Cardiovascular Science.

My research interests are focused on the use of human genomics to identify and validate drug targets for the discovery and development of novel treatments for common diseases.
