Are we aware of the inequality that exists between men and women at university, in the laboratory or in other facets of scientific life such as conferences, stays abroad or collaborations? Following last year’s success, we at the Scottish constituency of SRUK would like to continue to commemorate International Day of Women and Girls in Science by raising awareness of gender issues in science. To this end, we have organized the workshop “Equality and You”, led by Jennifer Stewart, MA in gender studies, where we will learn the basics of equality and diversity, and work on attitudes that can help us identify and correct situations in which we suffer or witness discrimination. The event will be held on Saturday 10 February from 10 am to 1 pm at the David Hume Tower of the University of Edinburgh and is exclusive to SRUK members.
