On Thursday 7th February, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, SRUK Oxford will celebrate a special edition of their classic minisymposia in which all speakers will be women. Four speakers from different fields will provide an overview of their professional careers, explaining what they worked on before coming to Oxford, what they are working on now and what their future plans are. These are 10–minute talks followed by an open and very active discussion with the public.
Our guest speakers will be: Olivia Afonso, Early Career Research Fellow – Department of Psychology, Health and Professional Development at Oxford Brookes University; Teresa Vilanova, PhD student – The Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health, University of Oxford; Virginia Casablancas, PhD student – Systems Approaches to Biomedical Science Centre for Doctoral Training, University of Oxford, and Helena Rodríguez, Postdoctoral Researcher – The Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health, University of Oxford.
This minisymposium will be held at the The Oxford Retreat (1-2 Hythe Bridge St, OX1 2EW, Oxford) starting at 6.30 pm. This event is free and open to the public, so we encourage you all to participate.
We look forward to seeing you there!
