SRUK visits the Cañada Blanch School

· London

From 7th to 10th May, The Spanish High school Cañada Blanch in Portobello Rd (W10 5SZ) held the Science Week, comprised within the Comenius European framework. Comenius was born as an innovative teaching tool that aims to promote intellectual mobility between European schools, through a series of joint activities under the slogan “Let’s make school more enjoyable”. Members of the SRUK/CERU were involved in a series of seminars for students of primary and secondary education. The students could experience from the real scientists, what kind of research is being carried out by researchers members of the SRUK/CERU. Students had the opportunity to listen to several researchers or “science communicators” as Dr. Maria Hernandez, who talked about what the transplants are, and how the new organ can adapt to the body of the host, or PhD student Enrique Gallego, who discussed about how we can activate the regenerative capacity of our tissues, finishing his talk with a series of scientific experiments.
