IV Christmas Seminar

· Manchester

The Yorkshire, Northwest and Midlands SRUK constituencies are organising the IV Christmas seminar that will take place on the 25th of November at the Cervantes Institute in Manchester. Our Christmas Seminar on Scientific communication to the general public will be focused on audio-visual media.

Documentaries and online videos are key learning resources available to the general public in today society; however academics and scientists do not always make the best use of them to communicate science to a lay audience.

Luis Quevedo, a documentarist and expert science communicator will lead a workshop for SRUK members focused on how to speak to the general public and use audiovisual media. To book a place for the workshop please register through Eventbrite.

At 4pm Luis Quevedo’s last documentary “In search of a lost future” will be screened followed by a round table to discuss about anthropology and audiovisuals in science communication. Lunch and refreshments will be served.
