Science in the Pub is back in London on the 1stof May! The SRUK London constituency continues bringing science closer to the public by hosting the event How to build a brainat The Horseshoe Inn, a traditional pub close to London Bridge.

Professors Beatriz Rico and Benedikt Berninger, from King’s College London, will delight us with their knowledge of brain development and neurogenesis.
Beatriz Rico will tell us about the mechanisms of neuronal networks, and how abnormalities in the connections between neurons during embryogenesis lead to neuropsychiatric disorders. From Benedikt Berninger we will hear how to make new neurons using the cutting –edge technique cell reprogrammingthat allows converting non-neuronal cells into neurons to help the regeneration of the cerebral tissue. They will also discuss how new technologies can help to understand, repair and improve the diseased brain. All in a relaxed and friendly environment! Cheers!
