SRUK Oxford invites you to “High speed research“, an event that will take place on Monday 1st of April at 6:30pm in St. Peter’s college, Dorfman centre (New Inn Hall St, Oxford OX1 2DL). This event is organised in collaboration with the SRUK target network of Science, Technology & Engineering, the Oxford University Spanish Society and Brookes University.
Have you ever wondered what type of research is carried out in the backstage of Formula 1 teams? To answer this question, we are hosting an outreach event about the areas and research projects that the Formula 1 engineers work on. The aim of the event is to give an overview of the research that is being done in the field of Formula 1, its importance and challenges, and what scientific profiles we can find. Oxfordshire counts with different teams in the area and that evening we will have three great speakers:
–Raúl Úbeda Sala, Vehicle Performance Optimisation and main support of Carlos Sainz – Renault.
–Leila Álvarez García, Composite Design Engineer – Renault.
–Rachel Nichols, Structural Analysis Engineer – Mercedes AMG Petronas.
The talks will be followed by a round table discussion chaired by Miguel Fernandes Ferreira., who will also introduce the session. Miguel is lecturer in the Master’s degree in Motorsport Engineering at Oxford Brookes University.
This event is free, but registration is needed: https://formula1_oxford.eventbrite.co.uk
