Discovering Port Meadow: a natural treasure in Oxford

· Oxford

SRUK’s Oxford Constituency celebrated the beginning of the summer with a refreshing tour around Oxford’s Port Meadow, a place where history meets nature. Besides the river Thames, Port Meadow is not only the main green space in Oxford but also an ancient grazing land, used by Oxonians during almost 4,000 years. In our tour, leaded by Rubén González and Pablo Muñoz, the attendees learnt about the biodiversity of Port Meadow and the historical remains like Gosdtow Abbey (12th century) or Binsey village.
