Discovering Port Meadow: a natural treasure in Oxford

· Oxford

SRUK’s Oxford Constituency celebrates the beginning of the summer with a refreshing tour around Oxford’s Port Meadow, a place where history meets nature. Besides the river Thames, Port Meadow is not only the main green space in Oxford but also an ancient grazing land, used by Oxonians during almost 4,000 years. In our tour, we will learn about the biodiversity of Port Meadow and the historical remains like Gosdtow Abbey (12th century) or Binsey village.

The tour will be followed by an end-of-term barbeque, organised by the Oxford University Spanish Society at Wolfson college at 5.30 pm.

When: Sunday 17th June 2018. Starting at 2pm.

Meeting point: Worcester college, main entrance (1 Walton Street, OX1 2HB Oxford)
