We are delighted to present the return of CineScience, this time in an online format & in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes Manchester and Leeds. The event, focused on Woman in Science, will be explored through the documentary “La mujer que soñaba con números” and the intervention of a panel of experts that will talk us through their own experiences.
Mirella R. Abrisqueta recovers the figure of Andresa Casamayor, a pioneer, almost unknown, who published Tyrocinio Aritmético, the first scientific text written by a woman in Spain. La mujer que soñaba con números is the feature-length film that portrays her life and her development in Spanish Enlightenment society. A fiction documentary with the participation of actors and actresses such as Javier Aranda, Minerva Arbués, Chavi Bruna, Félix Martín, María José Moreno and Claudia Siba.
The documentary will be available for 7 days, starting at 7 pm [GMT] on 9th April, on Instituto Cervantes Manchester YouTube Channel. English subtitles will be available.
Following, a roundtable discussion will be organized for the 15th April at 6 pm [GMT], with the valuable collaboration of the director and 3 mathematicians, in order to comment and discuss the role of women in maths, today and along the history:

– Concepción Mª Martínez Pérez, professor at the mathematics faculty of the Universidad de Zaragoza.
