CineScience for the International Day of Women and Girls in Science: “Mission Blue”

· London

Join the SRUK London constituency to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science!

We will screen “Mission Blue”, a documentary featuring the legendary oceanographer, environmentalist, awardee of the 2018 Princess of Asturias Award of Concord, and National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Sylvia Earle. This documentary goes through the well-renowned oceanographer’s life and how she travels around the world to promote a global network of protected marine sanctuaries.

The film screening will be preceded by a short presentation of the results collected from the SRUK’s Awakening Vocations in STEM” project. This is a series of children’s workshops that were run in several primary schools in both Spain and the UK to estimate the gender-based concept and stereotype preconceptions that children have about scientists.

This event is free to attend and there is no need to book in advance!
