The SRUK/CERU Emerging Talent Award Ceremony – 2020 & 2021 has been cancelled due to the current epidemiological situation and the associated restrictions.
Thank you for your continued support and we hope to see you at our next event in the future!
Best regards,
The SRUK Team
This SRUK/CERU award, supported by the Fundación Banco Santander, aims to recognise and support a promising young Spanish researcher who has developed their career in the UK. This year we will award Dr. Susana García López (Awardee 2020), Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University, and Dr. Rodrigo Ledesma Amaro (Awardee 2021), Lecturer at Imperial College London.
Prior to the ceremony, SRUK/CERU members are invited to participate in a networking event with the awardees, also taking place at the Spanish Embassy. This networking event will provide SRUK/CERU members the opportunity to have a chat with the awardees, and also a chance to share their impressions about the opportunities and challenges arising from the cooperation with fellows from other fields.
To encourage all of our SRUK/CERU members to attend the award ceremony and the previous colloquium with the awardees, a number of microgrants for SRUK members are available to cover part of the travel expenses of the members attending the networking event from outside London. To obtain a microgrant, SRUK/CERU members should send a motivation letter of 200 words max to [email protected].The applications will be considered depending on the relevance of the topic to them and/or the impact their attendance will have on the applicant’s career. Students and researchers at early stages of their career, and members attending from distant cities will have priority. Grants for £75, £50, and £15 will be awarded, depending on the travel distance.
