We are excited to invite you to the SRUK Oxford Summer Talks & BBQ, taking place on June 27th at 7pm at the MCR of St Hugh’s College, located at 87 Banbury Road, Oxford. This event promises an engaging night with enlightening talks from our very own Oxford SRUK members, followed by a delightful barbecue in the beautiful gardens of St Hugh’s!
The evening will feature three 10-minute outreach talks on diverse and impactful topics:
- José Cabezas – Engineering Your Immune System to Fight Cancer: Discover the innovative techniques being developed to harness our immune system’s power against cancer.
- Sara Estecha Querol – From the Ivory Tower to the Frontline: Conducting Research in Conflict-Affected Areas: Gain insights into the challenges and rewards of conducting research in areas impacted by conflict.
- Blanca – Home as Memory: Artistic Research on Belonging and Architectural Phenomenology: Explore the intersection of art, memory, and architecture in creating a sense of belonging.
After the talks, we will gather in the gardens for a casual barbecue, featuring hamburgers and hot dogs. This will be a perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy good food, and network with fellow researchers and friends.
